Canada Post in the community

At Canada Post, we're committed to giving back to Canadians and Canadian communities. We're proud to be involved in the community and work hard to support organizations in reaching their goals.

With 72,000 employees, Canada Post has a presence in virtually every region of Canada. That's why it is so important for us to give back and help make a difference in our communities from coast to coast.

We're accomplishing this through our regional donations coordinators and through our Coaching and Community Involvement Program (CCIP). Canada Post has, for many years, accomplished our social responsibilities thanks to this great program, which is available to all full and part-time employees involved in organizations or projects that benefit the community at large.

Through the CCIP, Canada Post offers employees a donation in support of their personal community activities outside the workplace. Employees send in applications for the CCIP program and, if chosen, a cheque is made payable to their non-profit or charitable group. This program has been extremely successful over the years and our employees are very proud to say that they are an integral part of society and have contributed to their community.

Sponsorship Committee

A special committee has been established to oversee sponsorship and donation proposals at Canada Post. The committee is also used as a 'forum' to educate members about trends in the marketplace, share competitive information and discuss sponsorship and donation opportunities for Canada Post.

Giving Strategy

Canada Post is a major national supporter of literacy and of the United Way. We believe that literacy and education are vital to both personal and economic growth.

In 1994, United Way created a "Thanks a Million" award recognizing organizations that have collected over $1 million dollars during their campaign. The award recognizes the Company, employee generosity and community spirit. Canada Post has been a proud recipient of this award every year since it has been created. Canada Post has also been presented with the "Best Ottawa Community 2006 Campaign" award (selected from 1,800 campaigns in Ottawa). These awards demonstrate that not only do we do business in communities across Canada, but we also invest in them for the good of all Canadians. Learn More…
