John Farnand
Vice-President, Engineering and Postal Transformation
John is responsible for the development and deployment of the national infrastructure renewal program that involves over $2 billion of investment in our equipment, technology, processes and employees. This includes concept development, initial and final designs, engineering and implementation as well as development of costs, benefits and strategic considerations, evaluation, and external validation.
John joined Canada Post in 1984 and has held increasingly responsible roles in areas including Industrial Engineering; Engineering, Real Estate, Fleet and Maintenance operations; development of the company's supply-chain strategy; and innovation, research and development activities.
John has over 30 years of business experience in petrochemical, metal forming and postal operations and has been responsible for operations, maintenance and engineering functions. He is bilingual, a professional engineer and holds an M.B.A. from the University of Ottawa, a diploma in management from McGill University and a Bachelor of Applied Science degree. John and Maureen live in Ottawa and have five children.
