Canada Post offers apologies

Jan. 25, 2008

Canada Post apologizes to all its Quebec employees, as well as the rest of the province's population for having omitted the Fête Nationale du Québec (Saint-Jean-Baptiste day) from an employee calendar that was distributed nationally earlier this month.

"Clearly, we recognize the importance of this holiday to the people of Quebec," said Moya Greene, President and Chief Executive Officer of Canada Post. "I want to assure you that this was a regrettable oversight and we're sorry for offending anyone in doing so."

Canada Post has decided to re-print the calendar to include this special day, as well as other provincial holidays. The revised calendar will be provided to all employees by the end of February.
