Talks continue as conciliation phase concludes

September 05, 2018

Dear Customer,

This brief update on Canada Post’s negotiations with the Canadian Union of Postal Workers marks the end of the 60-day conciliation process between the two parties. The conciliation period ended at midnight on September 4, 2018 and we are now in what’s referred to as the “cooling-off period,” which lasts for 21 days. Talks continue at an off-site location with a goal of reaching negotiated settlements.

As a reminder, conciliation is a normal phase of negotiations detailed in the Canada Labour Code and the timelines are detailed in previous updates. If you haven’t signed up for email updates on the site, please do so to keep up to date on our progress.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.
