The Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) is conducting strike action in Saint John, N.B., and Sudbury, Ont. It began at 12:01 a.m., Friday, October 26 in Saint John and Sudbury (local times).
Mail and parcels will not be delivered or picked up in the impacted areas while the union continues their strike activity.
Employees have returned to work in Red Deer and Calgary, Alta. and in Sherbrooke, Que., where 24-hour rotating strikes have ended. We are working to restore service and eliminate any mail and parcel backlogs. We have also been devoting significant resources to returning our Toronto operations to normal as quickly as we can after rotating strikes there on Tuesday and Wednesday. This includes:
- Extending collection and delivery through this weekend.
- Bringing in extra people to clear the backlog, including extending hours of part-time employees and offering overtime as needed.
If you have not done so already, please register for regular updates by email on this page. We will also post information about service disruptions resulting from rotating strikes on Twitter using the handle @canadapostcorp
Thank you for your continued patience.
