CUPW begins strikes in several Northern Ontario communities

November 25, 2018

The Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) has started strike activity in Northern Ontario on Sunday, affecting the communities of Sault Ste. Marie, Wawa, Bruce Mines, Desbarats, White River, Echo Bay, Iron Bridge, Richards Landing and Thessalon, Ont.

CUPW continues strike activity in Royal City, Maple Ridge, Surrey and the Fraser Valley, B.C. Meanwhile, strikes have ended in Nanaimo, B.C.

Canada Post remains at the table to find the common ground needed to reach a settlement with the union. We continue to operate in an attempt to minimize further service impacts.
