CUPW members hold strikes in British Columbia, Ontario and Nova Scotia

November 26, 2018

The Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) began strikes Monday morning in Vancouver, North Vancouver, Burnaby and Richmond, B.C., and in Hamilton, Scarborough (except the York Distribution Centre, where a strike that began Sunday has ended), Ajax, Markham, Richmond Hill, North York and Pickering, Ont. Union members also walked off the job at the Halifax plant and depot and at the Dartmouth depot in Nova Scotia.

Strikes also continue in and around London, Ont., and in Royal City, Maple Ridge, Surrey and the Fraser Valley, B.C.

Meanwhile, strike activity has ended in Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.

Canada Post remains at the table to find the common ground needed to reach a settlement with the union. We continue to operate in an attempt to minimize further service impacts.
