OTTAWA – Canada Post is proud to support Canadian small businesses and the millions of people behind these vital enterprises that help power the national economy.
During Small Business Month, and throughout the year, Canada Post invests in the country’s entrepreneurs with programs, solutions and expertise designed to help them succeed.
Small businesses are the backbone of the Canadian economy, employing millions and driving job creation and economic growth in communities of all sizes from coast to coast to coast. As these companies face economic pressures and uncertainty, Canada Post remains committed to providing practical solutions that help them reduce costs, reach new customers and grow with confidence.
Helping small businesses save money and grow
Canada Post’s Solutions for Small Business program gives entrepreneurs access to shipping discounts and marketing offers designed specifically for small businesses. Through December 31, 2026, all Solutions for Small Business customers automatically receive the program’s best shipping rates, regardless of how much they ship. This unified pricing initiative gives small businesses access to rates generally available to companies that ship large volumes, helping level the playing field during the critical holiday shipping season that seems to start earlier each year. Small businesses can join the program for free to access these savings, marketing insights, online tools and other resources.
Until January 3, 2027, Canada Post is also providing a 15-per-cent discount on the published fuel surcharge for eligible domestic parcel shipping. This three-month relief will help businesses manage shipping costs during one of the busiest times of the year.
Small businesses can also promote, sell and ship products directly to consumers across the country through Canada Shops, an online marketplace exclusively for Canadian retailers. The platform provides an additional channel to increase visibility, connect with shoppers and showcase products alongside other businesses based in Canada.
For micro-retailers, side hustlers and entrepreneurs who may not yet have an online store, Canada Post’s eCommerce Store Builder offers a simple way to establish an ecommerce presence. The free, AI-enabled platform allows businesses to create a professional online storefront in minutes, without technical expertise. The tool offers website templates and includes payment processing, inventory management capabilities, social media integration and access to Solutions for Small Business pricing and benefits.
Small businesses can ship and save with ease by using Canada Post Snap Ship™. This tool lets entrepreneurs compare shipping services, access discounted rates, create and print shipping labels, and book package pickups in one place.
