Industrial Inquiry Commission provides its recommendations for Canada Post’s path forward

May 16, 2025

Canada Post and the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) have received the final report from the Industrial Inquiry Commission (IIC), which was established to review the issues in Canada Post’s collective bargaining dispute with CUPW, as well as the company's broader challenges.

Both Canada Post and CUPW participated in the hearings that were held earlier this year in January and February. Today’s report provides a frank and objective assessment of the challenges that our organization faces, while also offering recommendations for a sustainable path forward.

As you know, this report comes at a critical time for Canada Post as we seek to reach new negotiated collective agreements with CUPW and to transform our operations so that we can provide the service your business and your customers rely on and expect.
