Electronic transfers

If your MoneyGram™ transfer is sent directly to your bank, it will be deposited automatically. No further action is needed.

In-person transfers

You can pick up a MoneyGram transfer at any Canada Post location.

  • Get the reference number

    Ask the sender for the MoneyGram reference number.

  • Bring your ID

    Visit a post office with your reference number and a government-issued photo ID (such as a driver’s license or passport). The name on your ID must match the sender’s details exactly.

  • Receive your money

    After verifying your ID and signature, you will receive your transfer in one or more of the following methods: 

    • Cash (up to $500, depending on funds available)
    • E-transfer
    • Canada Post money order
