To meet addressing guidelines or to accommodate limitations on address fields in your database, you may need to adjust the names of towns, cities or communities with long names.
Canada Post has a list of official abbreviations for some municipalities in Northwest Territories, Nunavut and Yukon with names longer than 13 characters.
