Neighbourhood Mail delivery standards

Delivery standards are estimates of the number of days it will take for your items to be delivered once they are brought to a post office or mail processing plant.

The Canada Post Neighbourhood Mail™ service delivery standards vary depending on your items’ size, weight, origin, destination and mailing options such as transportation. Ensure that your mail meets the exact specifications in the Neighbourhood Mail Customer Guide.

Delivery standards are comprised of 2 components:

  1. Transportation time
  2. Delivery cycle*

If you bring your mailing to the processing location responsible for local delivery, you can estimate delivery standards by finding delivery cycles and transportation times below.

Note that delivery standards are not guaranteed.

Delivery cycles (standard and oversize)

* For non-letter carrier routes, the delivery cycle, in business days, is 1 day for items up to 500 g (17.64 oz.) and 3 to 5 days for items up to 1,000 g (35.3 oz.) with a maximum thickness of 1.5 in. (3.81 cm).
