Free Mail Forwarding
Effective June 11, eligible residents in six additional communities can receive free Mail Forwarding service for up to 12 months. Impacted residents have until July 11 to register for the free service.
Mail Forwarding is an important service for ongoing mail and it also provides a vital link with government and relief agencies going forward. If a customer receives regular cheques through the mail, it’s important for them to register.
By registering, Canada Post will be able to ship mail to a different address selected by the customer. This can be done on a short-term basis or for longer periods, even if the address is temporary.
Residents affected by wildfires with one of the following postal codes are now eligible for this offer:
- Air Ronge: S0J 3G0, S0J 0B3
- Canoe Narrows: S0M 0K0
- Denare Beach: S0P 0B0, S0P 0A2
- Deschambault Lake: S0P 0C0
- La Ronge: S0J 1L0, S0J 0G7
- Timber Bay: S0J 2T0
Since June 5, residents affected by wildfires from one of the following postal codes have been eligible for this offer. They must register before July 5:
- Creighton: S0P
- Pelican Narrows: S0P
- Sandy Bay: S0P
- Southend: S0J 2L0
- Weyakwin: S0P
To request the free service, affected customers will need to either:
- register at canadapost.ca/mailforward using a credit card to authenticate their identity. No fee will be charged to the credit card.
- go to a post office with a government-issued photo ID (mandatory). Proof of authorization is required to request the free service on behalf of another person.
Note: If residents affected by wildfires purchased the Mail Forwarding service prior to June 5, they can call Customer Service to request a refund.
Customers can check the Delivery service alerts page for updates, including when postal services resume in their community.
We thank those affected for their patience in this difficult time.
If customers have questions regarding their postal services, they can contact Canada Post's Customer Service team online at canadapost.ca/support or by telephone at 1-866-607-6301 (TTY: 1-800-267-2797).
