International Suspensions and Delays

Canada Post is temporarily suspending acceptance of international mail and parcels amid the Canadian Union of Postal Workers’ ongoing national strike. International items received as of November 15, 2024, are being held in secure containers and have not been processed. Please note this only applies to items entering from foreign posts.

When service resumes, stored items will be delivered as soon as possible on a first-in, first-out basis. Customers should expect delays as Canada Post restarts and stabilizes its operations.

Ukraine: Expect delays for letters and parcels

Increased safety protocols and flight restrictions into Ukraine are creating delays for customers.

For Canadians sending humanitarian goods to Ukrainian citizens, Ukraine Post has recommended the following:

Please write on the package in capital letters - HUMANITARIAN AID (or ГУМАНІТАРНА ДОПОМОГА).

We are working hard to maintain service and keep the mail moving into Ukraine. Delays are expected and some items may be delivered well beyond published delivery standards. Consumers and business shippers should consider the additional delivery time when making commitments to recipients in Ukraine.
