Update: Important information for customers affected by wildfires in Manitoba

New online sign-ups and changes for Mail Forwarding service not available from June 25 (11:59 pm ET) to July 2, 7 am ET

Wildfires are affecting mail and parcel delivery in certain communities. Canada Post has implemented contingency measures to serve residents of these communities and to keep them connected.

Mail for Bissett residents (R0E 0J0, R0E 0B1) is also available for pick up at:
Pine Falls Post Office
23 Pine Street, Pine Falls MB  R0E 1M0
Open Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm

Residents must bring valid government-issued photo identification to pick up their mail.

Free Mail Forwarding

Mail Forwarding is an important service for ongoing mail and it also provides a vital link with government and relief agencies going forward. If a customer receives regular cheques through the mail, it’s important for them to register.

By registering, Canada Post will be able to ship mail to a different address selected by the customer. This can be done on a short-term basis or for longer periods, even if the address is temporary.

Important: As we upgrade our systems, new online sign-ups or changes to the Mail Forwarding service will be unavailable from June 25, 11:59 pm ET to July 2, 7 am ET. In-person sign-ups at a post office can be made until June 30, 6 pm ET.

Since June 5, residents affected by wildfires from one of the following postal codes have been eligible for this offer. They must register before July 5:
- Cross Lake: R0B
- Flin Flon: R8A
- Lynn Lake: R0B
- Norway House: R0B 1B0
- Pukatawagan: R0B
- Sherridon: R0B

Since June 11, residents affected by wildfires with one of the following postal codes have been eligible for this offer. They must register before July 11:
- Bissett: R0E 0J0, R0E 0B1
- Cranberry Portage: R0B 0H0, R0B 0B3
- Snow Lake: R0B 1M0, R0B 0B4
- Split Lake: R0B 1P0, R0B 0E1

To request the free service, affected customers will need to either:
- register at canadapost.ca/mailforward using a credit card to authenticate their identity. No fee will be charged to the credit card.
- go to a post office with a government-issued photo ID (mandatory). Proof of authorization is required to request the free service on behalf of another person.

Note: If residents affected by wildfires purchased the Mail Forwarding service prior to June 5, they can call Customer Service to request a refund.
