Closures and service interruptions

Wildfires are affecting mail and parcel delivery in certain communities. Canada Post has implemented contingency measures to serve residents of these communities and to keep them connected.

Free Mail Forwarding service has been extended for residents and businesses in Gull Bay (P0T 1P0), Armstrong Station (P0T 1A0) and Collins (P0T 3E0). Affected residents now have until September 24, 2026, to register for the free service.

Mail Forwarding is an important service for ongoing mail, and it also provides a vital link with government and relief agencies. If a customer receives regular cheques through the mail, it’s important for them to register.

Once they register, Canada Post will be able to forward mail to a different address selected by the customer. This can be done on a short-term basis or for longer periods, even if the address is temporary.

To request the free service, affected customers will need to choose one of the following options:

• register at ca/mailforward using a credit card; no fee will be charged to the credit card;
• go to a post office with a government-issued photo ID (mandatory); proof of authorization is required to request the free service on behalf of another person.

Note: Refunds will be processed automatically if affected residents and businesses purchased the Mail Forwarding service between July 8 and August 24, 2026.

Reminder: Effective July 24, 2026, residents and businesses of Aroland (P0T 1B0) and Cat Lake (P0V 1J0) receive free Mail Forwarding service for up to 12 months. Affected residents have until August 24 to register for the free service.
