How to return an online purchase at the post office

Before shipping an item back, make sure you check your receipt or contact the retailer to confirm their return policy.

If the retailer pays for return shipments

  1. Find the return label
    • A prepaid return label may have been included with your order.
    • The retailer may provide instructions on how to print one from their website.
    • Some retailers provide a return code you can bring to the post office to have a label printed there.
  2. Confirm the pre-payment details before you go to the post office.
  3. Drop off your package at the post office and get a receipt as proof of return.

If the retailer doesn’t pay postage for return shipping

You’ll have to pay to ship the package.

  1. Bring your package to a post office.
  2. Choose a shipping service:
  3. Pay for the shipping label and attach it to your package.
  4. Get a receipt as proof that you sent the package.
Note
We recommend asking for a signature at delivery, to prove that the parcel arrived safely.
