Sending to the U.S.?
As of August 29, 2025, the United States requires all packages entering the U.S. to have duties prepaid. As a result, we are currently unable to create shipping labels with U.S. destination addresses in EST Desktop 2.0. You can use Snap Ship or Shipping Manager for U.S. shipments while we actively work on a solution. Learn more.

EST 2.0 - Statement of Mailing Enhancements
Previously there were a minimum of 3 copies produced on a normal induction. Current changes include the removal of the Data Entry copy, leaving the Accepting Location and customer copy. The customer copy is not mandatory (although the option to print will remain). Applicable to Personalized Mail, Postal Code Targeting, Neighbourhood Mail, Publications Mail, Incentive Lettermail / Lettermail, and (Incentive) Letter-Post.
The Customer copy of the Statement of Mailing will be set to not print. Customers can enable the Customer copy by going to their “Preferences”, “Defaults for Output”, removing the check mark from the checkbox “Do not print the Customer Copy”. Text has been added to remind the customer that only one copy of the Statement of Mailing is required at induction.

Effective September 15, 2024, Canada Post requires that customers who ship internationally must transmit their order by clicking “end of day” on the same day of the shipment, and in advance of drop off or pick up to avoid any delays in shipping to their destination. The “end of day” button must be used to close out and submit the orders every day.
Shipping Dangerous Goods
Shipping things like lithium batteries, perfumes, cleaners, aerosols or compressed gases?
Everyday items can be classified as dangerous goods, and certain dangerous goods can only be mailed by Regular ParcelTM or Expedited ParcelTM service within Canada and may have specific packaging and labeling requirements. NEW: EU Customs Declaration changes in effect Sunday, October 1, 2023
There will be changes to the information required on Customs Declaration forms for all parcels being shipped to EU countries beginning October 1, 2023.
The EU Transportation and Customs authorities will now be leveraging Electronic Advanced Data (EAD), to make pre-departure decisions to determine if an item can be loaded on the aircraft for transport to the European Union.
When filling out the Customs Declaration form electronically (also known as the CN22, CN23 or CP72), the Customers must provide accurate and detailed data and ensure all mandatory fields are completed. Providing false or incomplete information, in any completed fields, including listing “N/A” or “0000000000,” may result in the parcel being rejected by foreign customs authorities.
For more information, please refer to the Frequently Asked Questions at: FAQ about new customs rules for EU shipping | Canada Post (canadapost-postescanada.ca)
