Mail and parcel service temporarily suspended to the Crimean peninsula in the Ukraine (postal codes 95000-99999)

June 19, 2014

The designated postal operator of Ukraine has informed member countries of the Universal Postal Union of difficulties in delivering postal items to addressees in the Crimea and Sevastopol. This is due to the current situation in Ukraine and in particular on the Crimean peninsula.

At the request of Ukrainian State Enterprise of Posts “Ukrposhta,” Canada Post has suspended forwarding all mail and parcel items addressed to Crimea and Sevastopol (postal codes 95000-99999).

Mail and parcels that have already been deposited will be held temporarily. If there is no change in the situation in the coming days, all mail and parcels destined to these postal codes will be returned to sender. Once postal service has resumed, customers will be able to resend their mail items at no additional charge.
