Root to Glory’s story begins with authenticity

As Founder of Root to Glory, Salima Jivraj is dedicated to empowering women with authentic, natural skincare solutions that celebrate their genuine beauty and unique journeys.

From her studio in Pickering, Ontario, she meticulously crafts a 100% natural, plant-powered skincare line. But the experience isn’t complete until each order arrives safely in the hands of customers across Canada. Maintaining that personal connection means offering a delivery experience that feels as thoughtful and beautiful as the products inside.

That’s where Canada Post steps in.

“My brand is built on authenticity, education and empowering women wherever they are,” Salima said. “To truly deliver on that promise, I need a shipping partner who can carry that same care from my hands to customers across Canada and help ensure every delivery feels just as beautiful.”

How Root to Glory meets underserved skincare needs across Canada

Salima has always seen natural skincare as a way of life.

“There are a lot of natural skincare trends catching on as if they’re new or novel. But for me, it has always been ingrained in everything I have done,” she said. “Raised in an Indian and East African family, everything was homemade for me by my mom – skincare, masks, hair care. I was so lucky to have that experience.”

That family tradition eventually blossomed into a serious pursuit. Her daughter’s struggle with severe eczema and Salima’s own skin changes as she entered midlife further ignited her dedication to understanding skin.

In 2023, Salima became an organic skincare formulator. As she worked with hundreds of women, mostly women over 35 and women of colour, she identified a significant need.

Midlife women were fatigued by generic, youth-focused products and conflicting advice. Feeling overlooked and unsure how to address their evolving skin needs, they were looking for a truly holistic approach to skincare.

“Ideas started forming in my head. I knew we needed something more. I knew I could create something to solve what these women were facing,” Salima said.

With her part-time aesthetician practice booked months in advance, she jumped into Root to Glory full time in May 2025, leaving a marketing career to dedicate herself to the brand.

“My purpose is to help women feel confident, celebrating their genuine beauty and offering real, holistic solutions they can trust. We’re more than just products. We’re about providing clear guidance and a sense of true wellbeing.”

Building a purpose driven natural skincare brand

In a market saturated with generic products and fleeting trends, Salima noticed a shift in consumer behaviour. Today’s buyers, she said, are more discerning than ever.

“In the ‘80s and ‘90s, people shopped for big brands because they trusted big brands. But now, people are consciously shopping at places that have a good brand ethos,” she continued. “They want to make sure their values align with the brand’s values.”

This understanding allows the Root to Glory skincare line to thrive, even alongside industry giants. Salima believes small businesses possess inherent advantages that larger corporations cannot easily replicate.

“As a small business, you don’t have to worry about competing with big brands because the truth is, you offer something they can’t: Authenticity, plus the nimbleness to move, pivot and focus on what makes you great as a small company.”

Expanding to national delivery

As her product line grew in popularity, Salima faced the new challenge of delivering the Root to Glory experience far beyond her studio and across Canada. Each carefully crafted item, often housed in delicate glass, carries her promise of quality and care, right down to the unboxing.

Plus, it wasn’t exactly her favourite part of the job.

“This whole shipping thing, logistics, it’s the unsexiest part,” Salima laughed. “My mind doesn’t always work that way, so it is my struggle.”

She knew customers weren’t expecting ecommerce-giant speed from a small business, but they still expected their order to arrive safely, on time and in beautiful condition. Competing in this crowded market meant every touchpoint had to reflect professionalism and care.

To protect her products, meet customer expectations and deliver consistently nationwide, Salima needed a partner she could trust.

She needed Canada Post.

Delivering Root to Glory’s brand promise

Canada Post transformed Salima’s logistical struggles into a seamless solution, enabling Root to Glory to extend its promise of quality and care across the country.

For the brand’s delicate, glass-bottled products, delivery integrity is paramount. Canada Post’s commitment to careful handling, combined with the reassuring presence of a trusted national carrier, ensures each item arrives intact, on time and exactly as intended.

Extending Root to Glory’s reach across the country is central to Salima’s mission, and Canada Post’s national network makes that growth possible by connecting her with women in every corner of the country.

“Their reach is just superior. They can deliver everywhere, which means I can be everywhere.”

That national expansion, Salima said, is made possible by support that’s literally across the street.

Root to Glory’s vision for future growth

As Salima looks ahead, her vision includes expanding her product line, offering more workshops and, eventually, opening a dedicated brick-and-mortar space that brings together a studio, retail and education under one roof.

Canada Post remains a steady and reliable partner in this growth journey.

“Root to Glory is about bringing authentic beauty and holistic care to women nationwide,” Salima said. “Canada Post is the partner that truly allows us to do that. Their reach and reliability mean I can focus on my vision, knowing the care in every product is delivered beautifully, coast to coast.”
