Import Restrictions
An import licence is required for many goods. Before posting any item, senders should confirm that the addressee has any necessary permit. Senders should determine import restrictions from the country's authorities before posting:

- communication equipment
- cotton seeds
- foodstuffs (prepared)

- pharmaceutical products
- plants and plant products

- telecommunication equipment
- tobacco
- wood and wood products.
Prohibited Items
In addition to items considered non-mailable matter, the following are prohibited:
- antiques
- asbestos
- articles of glass, stone, plaster and cement
- cereal
- fertilizers
- gambling devices
- ivory
- log and timber products from Liberia
- lottery tickets and advertising
- mineral products
- pharmaceutical products
- pearls, precious stones and metals
- prohibitions prejudicial to political, social and moral order
subversive material.

- wood and article of wood.

In addition, commercial goods mailed to Panama require an invoice posted separately to the country authorities.

1. Import Declaration
2. Commercial Invoice
3. Phytosanitary Certificate
4. Certificate of Free Sale (if applicable)
5. Certificate of Origin.
